The International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Code:

SOLAS VII contains regulations which governs the carriage of dangerous goods, and the The International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Code is considered extension to these regulations

In addition MARPOL Annex III contains regulations dealing with the pollution prevention by ships carrying harmful substances in packages, also IMDG is considered extension to these regulations

Document of Compliance for Ships Carrying Dangerous Goods in Packaged or Dry Bulk Form:

Application:

  • Passenger ships constructed on or after 1 September 1984
  • All other ships of 500 tons or over constructed on or after 1 September 1984
  • All other ships of under 500 tons constructed on or after 1 February 1992

Surveys:

Cargo ships:

  • Initial Survey
  • Annual Survey, in conjunction with Cargo ship safety equipment or cargo ship safety construction survey
  • Renewal Survey

Passenger ships:

  • An Initial Survey

  • A Renewal Survey, in conjunction with the passenger ship safety survey
